Phil Reid / @philthegod
Phil Reid is Everywhere’s Visual Media Specialist. Phil, known in Atlanta as “Phil the God” is a self-taught director and producer who has already made a name for himself in his short 21 years of life. Phil hails from Philadelphia, PA and moved to Atlanta in his teens where he attended Stevenson High School.
Phil began his professional career at the age of 19 in the unlikeliest of places. He was working in the clothing store, Tory Burch, when he met the entertainer, Kenny Burns. He appealed to Kenny to give him a job, but when turned down, Phil turned up as an intern at Kenny’s label, Studio43. Meanwhile, Phil had moved up in the fashion world and was working at Valentino by day and shooting videos for the label and Kenny Burns show by night. Encouraged by early success, Phil honed his craft and garnered the attention of other artists. He was able to quite his job in the clothing business and focus full-time on his career as a Director and Producer In the last two years, Phil has directed and produced videos for the likes of Sean Garrett, Ciara, Diggy Simmons, and Jay West.
Phil began working for Everywhere when he was just shy of his 21st birthday. He has directed and produced content for a number of our clients – deploying both documentary and music video styles. He created a series of hugely successful YouTube videos for Delta Global Staffing designed to encourage potential employees to apply for jobs at this division of the airlines. He worked closely with Everywhere partner, PR Sarah Evans, shooting interviews with celebrities such as Courtney Kardashian and the Real Housewives of New York for Qualcomm’s SWAGG. Phil is most proud of the documentary he directed and produced called B.U.R.N.S. (short for Be Ultimately Realistic & Never Sellout) about what success really means in the “Entertainment bizness.” B.U.R.N.S. will debut at the American Black Film Festival.
When not shooting films for Everywhere, Phil can be found exploring his passion for world music and trying to curtail his passion as a true “tattoo enthusiast.”
