Tamara Knechtel is a seasoned media executive, entrepreneur and founding partner of Everywhere. Tamara has deep experience in the field of radio and content management. Tamara launched her career at Radio One where she was Vice President of Operations. In this role, Tamara was responsible for nearly 70 radio stations in 20 major markets. Tamara was intricately involved in Radio One’s exponential growth to a two-billion dollar market cap. She oversaw a 250 million operational budget and was cornerstone in creating several syndicated programs and events including the Russ Parr Morning Show, Steve Harvey Morning Show and national concerts. In 1999, Tamara took Radio One from an owned and operated independent company public, listing them on Nasdaq.
Tamara retired from Radio One and ran a number of successful high-end boutique retail establishments in Las Vegas, Atlanta and Detroit. During this period, she also co-created and oversaw the publication of Ambassador Magazine, the leading glossy Detroit lifestyle magazine.
Before joining Everywhere, Tamara ran an Atlanta based consulting firm, Connect Consulting. Connect Consulting held a catalog of successful projects in multi-media, including the syndicated broadcast show, Soul Train Radio, and the multi-media on-line record company, ImNotSigned.com.
Tamara was born and raised in Detroit, but due to her Canadian parents, also counts Toronto as her home. Tamara presently resides in Atlanta where she serves on the board of Mary Hall Freedom House – an organization that houses and assists homeless women and children.
